Yakimix on a Friday

Yakimix recently opened their SM North Edsa branch! We usually eat at DADS or Saisaki for that ultimate eat-all-you-can experience, but just for a change, we tried Yakimix out. :D The ambiance was really great! The moment I saw the place I was like, "Now I know the reason why most people would choose to eat here rather than the other buffet restaurants out there". Being a maki lover, I had to try almost everything that is in the sushi/maki section! XD It was my first plate. LOL! Of course I didn't miss the tempura goodness! =))

I also did some grillin' at their smokeless grill. The marinated stuff were good! They were yummy, IMO, especially those asparagus and carrots wrapped with bacon, haha! You guys must try 'em out! I thought the "stress left-overs" from my acad-related life were relieved after I tried the smokeless grill. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take pictures of everything I ate already because I got carried away, LOL. I ate a lot and ended up having a really happy stomach! XD

And oh, about the ambiance, here's the buffet table! Really pleasing to the eyes, eh? :)

It has almost the same price as any other buffet restaurants we went to, so I guess the price was worth it! I was really full after anyway! NO DOUBT ABOUT IT! :D

Question:

Do you skip meals just to get your stomach all set for that one time-big time Eat-All-You-Can Experience? :D FYI: I didn't eat the whole day except for breakfast just to make my stay in Yakimix at dinner time worth it! XD

Gong Cha Craze

One day when I was strolling around SM North Edsa, I found this newly-established tea shop called Gong Cha at The Sky Garden. Being a huge fan of milk teas, I definitely tried one of their specialties and found love. XD I've already tried three milk teas from their menu: (1) Taro Milk Tea with Egg Pudding (Php 100.00); (2) Earl Grey Milk Tea with Pearls (Php100.00); and the third which was bought just an hour ago is (3) Toffee Milk Tea (Php75.00). I totally love their beverages! :D One can really tell how fresh the ingredients are. Find out more about Gong Cha Philippines and try one for yourself!

Bonding with Tricia!

It was a rainy Sunday bonding with my cousin who came all the way from Saipan! My cousin's name is Tricia and our last meeting was six years ago. Yes, we definitely grew up away from each other but this cousin of mine surely is close to me for unknown reasons. We just jive on whatever we talk about, I guess! :D Talk about blood being thick. ;) Trying to kill time on our way to Manila Ocean Park, here's a picture of the view from the window while rain poured down like cats and dogs.

We had Tokyo Tokyo for lunch! Nomnom.

Then we headed to MOP. It was my second time there but decided to accompany her that day. We strolled around and took pictures together. I still find ocean park great for family bonding! It's too crowded as always though. There are a lot of lines waiting for you, either for ticket buying, entering the park, or waiting for your turn to get your feet treated in the Fish Spa. Here's our picture after entering the Manila Ocean Park. YES, I know right it doesn't show the ocean but rather a place with terrestrial plants, but after that portion, we get to see the aquarium! XD

Anyways, we had the chance to experience the Glass Bottom Boat Ride. IMO, it's 65% okay if I were to rate it. It needs to be developed, and I hope the admin would work on that; nevertheless, it's a fun way to get a much closer look at different species of fish under the sea! :D It is best for appreciation of marine life. ^-^

Before ending the trip, we ate at UCC Cafe. She bought French Toast and Mango Juice while I bought a cake (forgot the name, but they told me it's their latest cake addition) and Irish Choco Cream Cooler. I'm very much into coffee y'know!

FUN DAY IT WAS! I hope to get more bondings with my cousins. I definitely needed this break away from Acads! It sure keeps me sane. :D

Bonding with Mom and Defending the Caveman

This day was absolutely one of the best summer weekend getaways I've had considering the fact that most of my weekends for summer are spoiled by academically-related stuff. My group and I have this project in Bio 115 Course (Taxonomy of Higher Plants) needed to be passed by the end of classes and so we decided to do it awhile ago. Thanks to mom for accompanying me there though! If it weren't for her, surely I wouldn't be able to go there easily. :D I was surprised to hear that the gardeners of the place knew a LOT about the plants they take care of. They really know what varieties they've been caring, their scientific names, and even the distinct characteristics and families the plants belong to! Nature really has its ways to amuse us, especially for aspiring biologists like us. :D So anyway, mom and I had lunch at Caramia, ATG and ate chicken & pasta.

On another note, our Comm III Class, together with Professor Anna, watched Defending the Caveman at RCBC Theatre this evening.  The monologue focused on how men and women have been made different in so many ways. From the beginning of time, being cavemen & women in the jungle, up to this present time in this modern world, there are these differences in culture, opinions, and way of understanding things which are inevitable. It is there and will always be there; however, the challenge starts in a relationship when one questions: how will you manage these differences? :)

It is directed by Mr. Michael Williams and Ms. Cathy Azanza-Dy, two award-winning veterans in the field of theater play. The role of the caveman is played by Mr. Joel Trinidad -- an actor, director, and playwright. It's a one and a half hour monologue. It was supposed to be for those who are in relationships, but if you are single, just like me, yet would want to know more about how relationships work despite the differences of sexes, then you better watch this show. Joel Trinidad is a very effective actor. The show had an impact on me; I cannot explain the feeling but all I know is, now I know more, if not all, about how men would act and why they are like this and that in a couple of situations. Same goes for men who would want to know about their women! ;) I highly recommend you to watch it. They have two more shows for this month -- on May 20 and 21, 2011 8PM at RCBC Theater.
