The Crossing...Train Rides

Odd as it seems, I find train rides relaxing. One would engage himself in a very tough battle going inside it at first, especially when it's crowded with people; nevertheless, when almost everyone would have gotten off,  I find the impression of trains mild and serene as if it's giving me space -- that "space" I need to breathe in, breathe out... stay calm and sane...away from the unsettled pace of the people that have bounded me initially. Kudos to Monumento Station for being the main get-off of the masses BTW! :D

Within that intimate, personal space I get from the almost vacant train, I find a moment of stillness. I rarely get calm these days, you see. Reality/Life nowadays is giving me a hard time, but I'm trying... not to feel down nor frustrated. I know I've been always a happy bee! An optimist! But there will always be a limit to everything, so I'm encouraging myself to drive the happy hormones out and just be.. well, happy!  :p

I will never blame academics for this though, coz maybe it's just really part of the routine of being a typical college student -- we need to get stressed so we won't be at ease all the time. After all, the Actual Life (away from the books, more on reality bites) has more to offer than the amount of stress we get from cramming the readings, almost not hitting the sack every night, and getting the pens and brains ready to battle out the revolting examinations! ;)

The usual Berso Sa Metro quotes situated at the top sides of the train are one of the unique things I get from riding the train. They make me reflect the moment I read them, and they are really effective especially when I'm in the middle of anxiety. God knows when I need some words of motivation, words from The Almighty!  :]

On another note,  life , as they say, can be compared to train rides. There are a couple of stations where you can get on and off, go for shorter or longer paths depending on your choice and then decide when to stop and get off the train. You can even decide if you want to go back, or just move on and go to the next station. We, likewise, get to be on different stages in our lives wherein each stage serves a mixed platter of blessings and difficulties. It's up to us now on how we'd take the platter! ;)

Questions: How do you get over life difficulties? Are you happy and contented with the way you are living now? || Do you ride trains? Do you feel the same when you get on a train (that feeling of calmness when it's almost unoccupied by people)?

I agree that once you're a college student, it really follows that you'll be living a very stressful life during school days. It is as if you enrolled to school not only to earn a degree, but to give yourself tons of workloads and stress. :)

I get over difficulties by just looking on the brighter side of everything. ;) And yes, I'm happy with my life, but not yet contented. I still have goals to pursue. ;)

Sorry to hear that life's pretty hard on you, especially with all of your studies going on! Good luck! *hugs*

Hmm, for me, usually, for school anyway, I take things one day at a time. I finish up one project/homework assignment, and then think about the next. I don't try to think of all of the things I have to do by a certain time, because that'd get me stressed out. That's how I did it junior/senior year of college. Haha.

I'm content/happy with my life right now. :)

As for trains, I love riding the train too, when it's not crowded. It's really relaxing, and time actually passes by pretty quickly on the train, I don't know why though. Hehe.

Hi sis! I miss riding trains. It's been years since I last rode one, there is no train rides available here at our town. And yea I guess you're right, I usually complain about those loaded things we students have to accomplish but I guess it is and always has been a part of our routine. :)

I'm an optimist as well. But I don't really like the trains we have here unlike you do. But I do love trams, the ones you see in Hong Kong. :)

How do you get over life difficulties?
I smile. Blog about it or rant my frustrations somewhere to relief myself from stress. And just keep on looking forward because that is how life should be lived.

Are you happy and contented with the way you are living now?
Honestly, no. I want to graduate na. And start working, have my own business. It is so annoying to be stuck in colege for years and still not being able to graduate. This is all thanks to my lazy ass.

Do you ride trains? Do you feel the same when you get on a train (that feeling of calmness when it’s almost unoccupied by people)?
Like I said earlier, no I don't feel that way. I hate riding the trains here in our country. But I do ride it once in a while. if I don't have a choice.

OH MY!!! Thank you for posting a photo of the LRT!!! I miss this soooooooooooo much :(

anyway, I don't like my life now. It's very different here in CA. I can't drive since I don't have my own car (and people in our house have their own cars that they drive when going to work, so there are no cars left here for me to drive). I can't commute coz I'm too scared to get lost. HAHAHA! I like it better in Manila. :(

yes, I do ride trains to. I've experienced riding both the old and new LRTs and of course the MRT. I miss it so much, I'm about to cry now :(

:) I've been in an almost empty train when I was in college and that was in LRT2. It was a magnificent feeling of not bumping your way into the machine and without even the worried feeling that your stuff might not be where it is before you got into it. Haha! :)

And I am not even from the metro, I just wanted to take LRT2 to go to Gateway mall, just for the experience! hahaha! :) and i thought it's prohibited to take photos inside, but you got it! hihi! nice one! ^____^

Hi, Sandra! I agree that riding a train is relaxing when it's not jam-packed. Nakakaloka lang talaga sa Cubao station, hirap bumaba ant sumakay!

Btw, love your photo. :)

Could you please share how do you schedule your post writing? I'm having a hard time..

I pretty much wing it and just do what I can to overcome difficulties. Most of the time I just do it myself, because I pretty much hate the idea of asking for people's help. I just hate it when I can't do the same for them. If you know what I mean. ;o I can't say that I'm completely content. I want more things to happen, and I'm working my way to make sure that they do. I'm hoping (;

I ride the train when I go somewhere far like Claireview. I could've ridden a bus but that would take too long. I'm not sure if I felt that before, I always get ditracted by the outside. @.@

Whenever I visit my aunt's house in Valenzuela, I really HAVE TO ride the LRT to travel fast. Just like you, I also love reading the Berso Sa Metro. I even took a picture one berso where it slaps me on my face. LOL. i mean sobrang patama kasi siya sis! :D

Interesting concept. I guess there have been train rides where I found it relaxing but in day-to-day commute train rides were very hectic for me because apparently the stop that I had to get off was one of those main get off stops.

I am glad that you can relax in the vacant train. It is quite difficult to keep yourself always happy and I have tough times with that as well. Keep being happy :D

College life does come with a lot of stress. I guess there's lots of other activities though that can help you balance it ^_^

Haha words from the Almighty! I have seen some quotes on train and other public transportation before and I agree...finding an inspiring quote on a random train ride feels like destiny XD.

True...life is like a train ride and your can hop between stations. However sometimes it is difficult to go back to a stage once it has past.

Getting over life difficulties...hmm I just keep persevering and believe that whatever happens, happens for good. This one philosophy has kept me going through all my tough times! I am pretty happy with my life now but there's always room for improvement ;) I used to ride trains a lot a couple years before but now I don't since there aren't local trains where I live lol. Unfortunately there have been very few instances where I was among the very few people on the train. I have to admit it though I do like it when it is empty XD.

I always ask guidance from God!, currently I'm happy because I recently got hired! but surely I'll be happier once I start giving my salary to my family.

Do you ride trains? Do you feel the same when you get on a train (that feeling of calmness when it’s almost unoccupied by people)? Yes I do, and I like it whenever it's empty!! calm, quiet, peaceful!

I wonder why those servers with copyrighted content stay up. I see a lot of "don't post any US content" but they don't care at all about content from japan.. . Is it just that Japan doesn't care much about their copyright laws?. . It is hundreds or maybe even thousands of servers with content from Japan but they only get DMCA warnings for US material or something that got translated by a US company.. . They also often have some content on their website, like images or small archives..

It's very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.
